The unique Holley "Le Mans" carburetor was based on the 4150 series but when, Holman Moody and Carrol Shelby wanted to take on Ferrari at Le Mans the GT40 cars encountered extreme G-forces in the turns plus high fuel volume requirements at 200+ mph runs down the straights. To meet these needs Holley engineers suspended each fuel bowl’s floats from the center of the bowl, along with the fuel inlet so that in the turns, the primary and secondary bowls received the required volume of fuel without starvation. Surprisingly, the secondaries were vacuum operated for fuel efficiency, fuel pressure and volume were maintained by .110-inch needle and seat assemblies, no fuel sight plug was provided in the float bowl, the Nitrophyl floats were adjusted internally, using a height gauge, and dual 30cc accelerator pumps for additional fuel under initial acceleration. The GT40 wasn't the only cars these were used on, Homan Moody, the Petty's and other teams used them on certain NASCAR tracks without the choke horn, and Shelby 427SC Cobras were equipped with them (428's used a dual quad setup, we sell those too).
As with all Model Behavior carburetors it features linkages, see through barrels, and some of the most accurate details and scale fidelity available. From 1/25th to 1/8th scale, all the details are there and visible!
