If you’re of a certain age you remember crawling into the trunk of a car and installing rear deck 6x9 speakers to make a stereo system sound better. In the early 80’s Sony went a different route and introduced a round woofer triaxial speaker that bolted to a 6x9 speaker pattern, the XS-880’s.
I had these speakers in 2 different cars in the mid-80’s, and they sounded great, so I wanted scale versions for my models and now they’re available for you too!
Sold in pairs, they are available in all scales, the tweeter/mid-range platform is separate for easy detail work (they’ll be very visible), and for the supremely delicate grills we strongly recommend using Rit Dye instead of paint on the grill to keep the detail intact.
To install, the speaker and grill drop into a hole, that simple! These come with a template for marking the hole diameter before you cut.
